Hand Bound Wedding Album with beaded panel. The cover is 9 x 12 and is covered with ivory embossed paper and a beaded insert. The closures are glass buttons. The spine is coptic stitch. There are 120 pages, ivory and light blue. They are 8 & 1/2 x 11". This journal was made as a special gift for a nautical themed wedding, with the colors ivory, navy, and gold. If you are interested in consigning a scrapbook or photo album for your special event (wedding, baby shower, anniversary, etc,) please email me. Megan Noël's Coptic Stitch Journal I learned coptic stitch in a class taught by Kerry Carbary, owner of Turtle Press. This is the 5th copic stitch journal I have made since I took the class about a month ago. I had taken another coptic stitch class in the past, but Kerrie's class was just what I needed to really understand it. The coptic stitch is easy and rewarding--once you get the hang of it, that is.
Megan Noël's Newspaper Journal Please click on each thumbnail to see a larger view On my best friend's birthday I collected the daily newspapers, The Seattle Times, the New York Times, & USA Today. I also collected horoscopes on-line. I did not know what I would do with them at the time. I decided to make a book. I made collages from the newspapers, & did double sided photocopies of them on 81/2 x 11 paper, which I cut in half. I made them a little bit faint. I then dyed them in tea and crumpled them. I bound three signatures into a small book using the phamplet stitch. I hung the horoscopes from tags which I hung off the loose ends on the spine of the book. The cover and end pages are also tea-dyed newspaper copies. A Ribbon inserted through the spine of the book may be used to tie it shut.
